Organic Garden Cafe – Beverly, Massachusetts

After some not so great experiences with the Boston food scene, we were excited to check out Organic Garden Cafe in Beverly, Massachusetts.  This definitely came in as one of the better restaurants we ate at during our time in Boston.  If you like good, healthy, wholesome food, definitely check them out!

What we ordered

Buffalo tempeh wrap- Features buffalo sauce, Frank’s Original Hot Sauce (aged cayenne red peppers, vinegar, garlic) &  jack cheez, with tempeh, lettuce, celery, tomato, carrot and ranchy alfredo sauce. This was an excellent combination of spicy tempeh and a cool, refreshing slaw in the wrap.  The cheese, however, was hidden and didn’t offer much presence in the wrap.  Overall this was really good and we would definitely order it again.

Teriyaki bowl- marinated & dehydrated soy & brown rice light life tempeh, brown rice vermicelli with blanched kale, bean sprouts, bell peppers, onion & cabbage. Comes with teriyaki sauce & teriyaki almonds.  There were some incredible flavors in the tempeh and the surrounding vegetables.  The noodles had a tough of chewy texture in some spots, which was unfortunate, but overall this was a great choice for a meal.

Chocolate macaroon- This was really good, but also more dense than we had expected.  The flavor was pretty good but definitely felt more like it was a coconut flavor than chocolate.

Peppermint patty- This was absolutely exceptional and the mint and chocolate paired perfectly.  If you like mint chocolate, you definitely have to check this out.
