We have taken the initiative to start selling all of our belongings, which has left us basically squatting in our very large house. The animals are all a little nervous, as they watch us carry large pieces of furniture out of the house, never to be seen again.
Some of the cats have made a game out of it, playing king of the castle on top of mattresses lining the living room.
The best part about selling everything, is that our dream of living full-time in an RV and traveling, is much more tangible. Yes, we might be squatting in our house (we are one step away from having camping chairs in our living room and a blow up mattress in the bedroom), but we are making the money we need to put down on a truck and trailer.
Unfortunately, we recently purchased a $9,000 mattress. Granted, it is the most AMAZING bed in the whole wide world and we will be very sad to see it go. It’s a King size, Tempur-Pedic, with the adjustable base that raises and vibrates, as well as a very nice bed frame. The worst part is that we have not even paid the bed off yet… However, we were able to get an offer for $3,000 (yes, we just lost $6,000), BUT we will have the money we need to put down on a truck. Our amazing mattress that we can no longer keep, will help us buy a truck that we desperately need to pull our trailer.
We still have some big-ticket items to sell, but we are slowly but surely dwindling our possessions down to necessities. IT IS SO LIBERATING! I am so happy to be lifting the weight of all our belongings. This is all just stuff that we don’t need.
