Styx River RV Resort, Robertsdale, Alabama

We did a tour of Ocean Canyon Properties when we were out in Texas and it was exactly like a timeshare presentation, but for RVers.  We didn’t end up buying into the program since what they were offering was not what we were looking for when it comes to our lifestyle, but we did end up getting some free nights to stay at one of their properties.  We ended up using them to stay at Styx River RV Resort in Robertsdale, Alabama.

The park has all of the amenities you would want in a bigger park including an outdoor and indoor pool, basketball court, TV viewing area, laundry and more!  There’s also river access and a beach that you can walk down to.  We took Brienne and Lulu down there for some exercise one day as Lulu LOVES beaches.  Overall the park was really quiet during the week, but you’re just down the road from a firing range so expect to hear gunfire all day long.

Our site was not level and had several tree roots running through it, but we were able to level out using our leveling blocks.  We did also have a nest of fire ants right next to our patio which was fun to find out the hard way.  We did, however, have some nice tree coverage which provided us with shade throughout the day.  Overall the park was a nice place to stay but there is a lot of traffic noise and gunfire so it’s not zen-like if that’s what you’re searching for.
