Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake County Park, Orlando, FL

We stayed at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake County Park, near Orlando, for a short week. We were easily able to check in and backed into our site without problems. We had a site that was backed up to the lake, but there was a fence separating the lake and the campground so we couldn’t just walk out directly to it. The sites themselves are very spacious and we had a ton of room between us and our neighbors.

When we arrived, there was a rowing competition happening on the lake right behind our site, so there were a lot of people and loud music playing which kind of killed the back to nature vibe we were looking for. The next morning at the crack of dawn we heard blaring music, yet again, this time for a 5K happening next to the campground. Luckily, this was just a weekend occurrence and the weekdays were very quiet and not busy at all.

They had a “drone zone” location where you could fly your drone, which was cool since Florida State Parks don’t allow you to fly drones at all. We didn’t take advantage of the lake with our kayaks, but they did have an awesome 2-mile loop that went around the entire park, which we walked with the dog every morning. This campground was awesome and we would definitely come here again if we came back to the area.

We completely dropped the ball and didn’t run any of our tests for our internet devices while staying here.  There is no camp wifi, but we had plenty of bandwidth on both our T-Mobile and AT&T connections to be able to work, upload videos, and stream Netflix without issues.
